The redesign of Top Manta visual identity arises from a very specific briefing regarding the brand attitude that is intended to be conveyed. This project discusses the need to create a graphic system that showcases an intercultural physical aspect (Africa + Barcelona), direct, social, creative, and urban. With a reivindicative, contemporary, and approachable spirit. Based on all these concepts, their existing logo was redesigned, maintaining and balancing its blanket symbol and applying the selected typography for the identity graphics across the different logo variants.

On the other hand, an agile graphic system is created that plays with different graphic elements that convey the desired attitude, including the main typefaces, letterings, shapes that emerge from the whites of the MANTER BLACK typography, and earthy colors vs. vibrant colors that reflect the interculturality sought in the briefing.

The typefaces are the most important graphic elements of the identity. The HEX FRANKLIN Extra Condensed typeface is positioned as the main typeface of the system, and another main typeface with similar proportions called MANTER BLACK is designed.

This typeface was created based on the idea of conceptualizing African WAX prints. In this way, we also showcase interculturality through the two main typefaces and a direct and reivindicative attitude through the display finish of both fonts.

Another type of graphic elements to be used are the shapes/patterns created from the whites of the Manter Black typeface.

With the counterforms of the uppercase and lowercase of the typeface, we achieve a range of shapes that provide great versatility for creating masks for images and texts, and patterns that will establish a strong identity by applying them in both static and animated forms.

Additionally, with these shapes, we can create our own WAX prints for Top Manta to print and apply to garments from the new collections and other brand products.
